On the evening of November 28, 2022, the scientific research experience sharing lecture for 2022 international students hosted by the International Student Union of the School of Mechanical Engineering was successfully held in F103. This lecture was hosted by James Fan, the instructor of the International Student Union, and Muhammad Shahzad Javed was invited as the keynote speaker.
Muhammad Shahzad Javed is a final-year PhD student at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in the School of Mechanical Engineering. He is an energy system modelling engineer with a focus on the rapidly evolving electricity sector. His research interest includes modelling and optimizing near-zero carbon energy systems and evaluating the role of energy storage in future variable renewable-based electricity systems. He has authored more than 12 scientific papers in Q1-ranked journals. This is very excellent.
Muhammad Shahzad Javed, taking how to complete an academic paper as his main content, introduced the confirmation of research direction, literature research, experimental exploration, data analysis and other aspects, combined with his own experience, and interspersed questions in the presentation to increase the understanding of the audience. The lecture was full and interesting, and the atmosphere was very warm, which won the heartfelt applause of the audience.
After the lecture, the students expressed that they had gained a lot. They were very grateful to the senior for his experience sharing, and they also discussed some of the contents of the lecture. Finally, all participants took a group photo.
