Recently, Professor Weizhong Guo at Institute of Design and Control Engineering for Heavy Equipment, School of Mechanical Engineering received an official letter with a Full Member Certificate signed by President Marija Strojnik of Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society. The certificate warrants that Weizhong Guo was duly elected a Full Member by the Committee on Qualifications and Memberships of the Society in the year 2023.

Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society was founded in 1886 at Cornell University in the United States. As the world's largest interdisciplinary scientific honor society, Sigma Xi recognizes researchers for the values they hold in high esteem, including more than 200 Nobel Laureates. Sigma Xi has been a milestone in hundreds of thousands of distinguished research science and engineering careers. The induction into Sigma Xi is by invitation (nomination) and election.
