On September 16th, the School of Mechanical Engineering served an orientation for new international students for new semester after a welcome ceremony. In this fall semester, this school has hold nearly 60 international students. There are 27 exchange students and 30 degree program students among them. 
 

The International Liaison Office presented two sessions of welcome ceremony and orientation for exchange students and degree students respectively. Teachers from Office for Graduates Education (OGE) and Office for Undergraduates Education (OUE) also participated in these activities. During the session, international students have been given a practical gift package, included a curriculum for graduate students／undergraduate students, the training schema and study plan for degree students etc. On-site teachers give feedbacks immediately on different service offices in the School, course selecting as well as study plan and so forth.
 

To ensure the international students could get better used to their new life at SJTU and enhance the communication and interactive between Chinese students and international students, each international student has been paired up with a Chinese partner. After the session, the international students raised some useful suggestions on the welcome ceremony and orientation.
