On November 4th, Prof. Yingzheng Liu, Vice Dean of ME, met with the delegation led by Prof. Pamela Hinds, Faculty Director, School of Engineering Programs in China, Stanford University. By exploring practical projects and scientific research, the two parties achieved initial cooperative intention.

Prof. Yingzheng Liu firstly briefly introduced the international collaborations of ME, followed by Prof. Hinds’ sharing experience of Chinese programs in Stanford University. What is worth mentioning is that Peter Shull, lecturer in Institute of Robotics, has benefited from the Chinese program. The “Endless Bridge”, a social project shared by Prof. Hinds, aims to build infrastructure including bridges for poverty stricken or earthquake stricken areas. The project is beneficial for both engineering students and local people. Students broaden horizon and enhance cross culture communication skills through this social project.

The delegation visited the laboratories of the Institute of Robotics and met exchange doctoral student WisitJirattigalachote. The two parties looked forward to more cooperative programs in the fields of social projects and scientific research.
