On 23rd October, 2013, GE-SJTU full-time M.Eng. joint training base was inaugurated at the R&D Center, GE, Zhangjiang high-tech Park, Shanghai. Leaders from both sides attended the ceremony, including Mr. Du Zhaohui, Dean of the Graduate School, Mr. Lin He, Vice Dean of ME, Mr. Chen Xiangli, President of R&D Center, GE.

Mr. Du Zhaohui, on behalf of SJTU, delivered a speech at the ceremony. He contended that the university-enterprise cooperation is an ultimate path to educate high-level engineering talent. Mr. Chen Xiangli believed that the GE-SJTU joint base would bring in “win-win” outcomes.

Ms. Wu Jingyi and Mr. Du Zhaohui awarded letters of appointment to 21 GE senior researchers. The GE-SJTU full-time M.Eng. joint training program adopted a double tutorial system, which laid a solid foundation for educating future elite engineers. 

SJTU-ME and GE has been keeping a close relationship in terms of education and scientific research. The found of GE-SJTU full-time M.Eng. joint training base indicates a deeper cooperation between SJTU-ME and GE in the aspect of educating engineering talent in China.
