38th APEC Expert Group on Energy Efficiency & Conservation meeting & Workshops was held on Nov. 7-11, 2011 in Seoul, Korea. Meanwhile, APEC Energy Efficiency Air Conditioners and Transformers Workshop took place on Nov. 7, APEC EGEE&C Meeting carried out on Nov. 8-9, 2011 and APEC Smart Appliance Standards for Air Conditioners and Other Appliances Workshop was held on Nov. 11. The attendees invited are representatives from government in charge of energy management, experts on energy saving and representative from multinational companies.
 
Prof. Guoliang DING from ME school was invited to attend the series of meetings and delivered a speech titled Technology Developments In Room Air Conditioners on Nov. 7, 2011. Prof. Ding introduced basic methods in energy saving and material saving of air conditioner as well as the latest research outcomes of improving heat transfer performance.
 
It is the second time for Prof. Ding to deliver a report on energy saving technology on air-conditioning and refrigeration installations invited by international organization. The first time for Prof. Ding was to deliver a speech named Trends and Future Direction in Energy Efficient Technologies for Air Conditioners and Refrigerators during Dissemination Workshop on Harmonization of Energy Efficiency Standards in Southeast Asia- Air Conditioners and Refrigerators in Malaysia on Jan 17-18.
