Abstract: "Green” engineering and sustainability have become increasingly important and have also attracted the attention in all engineering. Learning and getting inspiration from Nature (biomimetics) and adopting the smart systems are some of the more efficient engineering routes to achieve the goals. Prof. Chen will review the status of biomimetics and the smart systems briefly. Then some of the prospect and challenges in connecting with the "green" engineering and biomedical engineering will be commented.
