Abstract:
The combination of classical mechanical engineering production methods with the dramatically increased computer and networking potential of today’s machines opens new perspectives for intelligent, adaptive and efficient manufacturing. This presentation focuses:
- on robots which safely cooperate in close contact with human workers to increase productivity
and flexibility,
- on advanced interactive tele-maintenance methods to reduce standstill periods in remote production plants,
- on improved flow of material by flexible, autonomously guided transport robots.
These are key elements in modern production characterized by terms like “made in China 2025”, “industry 4.0”, “telematics”, “cyber-physical systems” and “internet of things”. Concrete realization of such concepts in factories will illustrate these concepts.
